JVC Home Theater Projector wins CES Award

JVC's flagship home theater projector, the DLA-X9 has been named an International CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 35 product categories.
JVC DLA-X9 The DLA-X9 is a THX® 3D Certified projector that is built using hand-selected, hand-tested components and provides a 100,000:1 native contrast ratio. It uses three 0.7” 1920 x 1080 D-ILA devices and is designed around JVC’s third generation D-ILA High Dynamic Range optical engine that is optimized to provide exceptional native contrast ratios without a dynamic iris to artificially enhance contrast specifications. For 3D display, the projector comes with two pairs of 3D glasses along with a PK-EM1 3D Signal Emitter. It is now on sale, one of three new 3D-enabled home theater projectors recently announced by JVC. The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Panasonic Unwrap 3D Tour

Panasonic has announced the Panasonic Unwrap 3D Tour – a two-week, 14-city mall tour designed to give consumers a chance to experience the immersive world of Full HD 3D Home Entertainment – will kick off in major malls across the nation on December 1. iGo Laptop Travel Charger

iGo has come out with a travel charger for laptop computers that sells for around $100 and is said to use about 85% less power than a standard charger when it's in standby mode. The charger works worldwide and is compatible with a variety of laptop brands. It also includes a USB port for charging other mobile devices.

iPad 2 Rumors

Infoworld's Galen Gruman speculates that the next-generation iPad will come without a USB port and with a faster processor and front-facing camera. Rumors are rife that the iPad 2 will be ready to ship in the first quarter of next year.

Atari's North American Release of Venetica

Atari in conjunction with Rombax Games announced the North American release date for Venetica, a role-playing game. With a cryptic storyline and mix of action and adventure, Venetica will make its North American debut on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC in January 2011.

Venetica takes players through a unique and vibrant world full of surprises. Set during the 16th Century in the beautifully rendered city of Venice, Venetica is a visually stunning, action-RPG with an extraordinary and immersive storyline.  Players navigate through a vibrant world in a quest to rid the city of danger.

Assuming the role of Scarlett, a young beautiful woman, players explore the streets and canals of Venice to rid the city of a dangerous necromancer.  Equipped with an arsenal of weapons, Scarlett is the only person who can stop them from destroying the entire living world.
