Sprint Unveils New Protection App for Blackberry and Android Mobiles

Sprint’s Total Equipment Protection currently provides coverage against loss, theft and damage to smartphone mobile devices. Now, customers with Total Equipment Protection will be able to track down a lost device and protect their personal information with the launch of a new application called Total Equipment Protection App.

The Protection App is included at no additional charge as a benefit of Total Equipment Protection plan, which is $7 per month, per line of service. It is available to customers with phones using BlackBerry and Android mobile platforms. The new app features include:

• Locate lost device by sounding an alarm on the smartphone even if in silent mode, doing a real-time locate via GPS technology, or viewing the smartphone’s location history on a map via a Web Interface

• Remotely lock their smartphone

• Erase contacts in the address book on a lost smartphone

• Backup, manage and restore contacts

LG Electronics Premieres LG Cinema 3D Technology at 26th Film Independent Spirit Awards

Hollywood celebrities were among the first to experience the next generation 3D TV—LG Cinema 3D—at the 26th Film Independent Spirit Awards. DirecTV iPad App Available on iTunes

Available today on iTunes, the DirecTV App offers a highly customizable remote control functionality right on your iPad. The DirecTV app provides remote scheduling for the majority of DVR boxes, but users will need one of the Plus HD DVR models (HR20, HR21, HR22, HR23, HR24 and H21, H23, H24) for remote control functions.

DragonEye 3D Flash LIDAR Space Camera Launched on Last Discovery Mission

Advanced Scientific Concepts, Inc. announced the launch of its DragonEye 3D FLC on the final flight of Discovery. The lightweight, small form factor DragonEye integrated 3D FLC is being tested as a part of the DTO 701B payload. Capable of capturing a full array of 128x128 independently triggered 3D range pixels per frame up to 30 frames per second in real-time, the DragonEye is designed to be used for Automated Rendezvous and Docking (AR&D) and possible On-orbit Satellite Servicing (OSS).

Amazon Kindle 3G Coming to AT&T; Stores Nationwide

AT&T today announced it will begin selling Amazon's bestselling Kindle 3G in AT&T company-owned retail stores nationwide beginning March 6. AT&T will include Kindle 3G in its connected devices displays throughout AT&T company-owned stores, offering customers the opportunity to test drive the device on-site.

Kindle 3G, which connects over Wi-Fi as well as AT&T's mobile broadband network, wirelessly downloads books, magazines, newspapers, blogs and personal documents to a 6-inch, high-resolution electronic paper display that looks and reads like real paper.

New Ansel Adams App Released for iPad

Little, Brown and Company announced the release of Ansel Adams for the iPad. This interactive app is available now on iTunes for $13.99, and provides a multi-tiered introduction to the life and work of the most honored American photographer of the 20th century.
