Though the company has not officially released any statement on whether it will sell, it has made mention of a Special Committee.
Blackberry announced today its intentions to create a Special Committee "to explore strategic alternatives to enhance value and increase scale in order to accelerate BlackBerry 10 deployment. These alternatives could include, among others, possible joint ventures, strategic partnerships or alliances, a sale of the Company or other possible transactions."
Though BlackBerry has development plans for the BlackBerry 10 and future endeavors, it may not have the funds to stay afloat-- it recently cut 250 jobs from its research and development department in July, and future layoffs appear to be imminent.
